Our Apple Orchard
Our orchard now numbers over 2,500 trees. The selection of varieties in our orchard includes Cortlands, McIntosh, Connell, Reds, Firesides, and Honey Crisps.
A pick-your-own apple business has evolved over the years with many people flocking to the orchards during the harvest season to pick their own or to buy ready-picked by the bag or bushel.
Apples are typically harvested in mid-September and October if you want to pick your own. Or we always have a good selection on hand if you just want to let us do the work and let you focus on doing the eating.
The Strawberry Patch
This year we have 4 acres of strawberries under cultivation. The varieties that will produce this summer are Glooscap, Cavendish, Cabot and Annapolis which do particularly well in our northern climate. The berries are dark red, large, firm, and sweet, and are wonderful for eating fresh and also for freezing. They are so intensely red through and through that they are perfect for making jams and preserves. Yummy!!!
Projected picking time is usually the end of June and into the first few weeks of July, depending on the weather. The peak of the season is generally the Fourth of July.
You can pick your own berries by the pound in a monitored field or buy them ready-picked by the quart or crate at the Country Store.
Call us for picking information or to place your order.
